What Are The 4 Types Of Crushers?

What are the 4 types of crushers?

1. Jaw Crushers
Jaw crushers, also known as primary crushers, are one of the most commonly used types of crushers. They are designed to crush hard materials, such as rocks and ores, into smaller sized particles. The working principle of a jaw crusher is simple. A motor drives the eccentric shaft, which moves the swing jaw in an up and down motion. As the swing jaw moves, it creates a V-shaped gap between the fixed jaw and the movable jaw. The material is fed into the gap and is crushed as the jaws come together.

2. Gyratory Crushers

One of the main advantages of gyratory crushers is their high capacity. They are capable of processing large amounts of material at a time, making them suitable for large-scale operations. However, gyratory crushers are more expensive than jaw crushers and require more maintenance.

3. Cone Crushers
Cone crushers are another type of compression crusher used to crush materials. They are similar to gyratory crushers in terms of their working principle but have a different shape. Cone crushers have a conical-shaped inner surface that revolves around a vertical axis. The material is crushed by the compression forces between the mantle and the bowl liner.

4. Impact Crushers
Impact crushers, also known as hammer crushers, are used to crush materials through impact or striking. These crushers use a high-speed rotor with hammers to throw the material against a solid surface. The material is shattered upon impact, resulting in smaller sized particles.
